*1978, lives and works in Düsseldorf

The terrain of the artistic material with which Manuel Graf works is very broad. Various forms of video works, school films that are crossed with music clips, partly documentary-based video works that deal with architectural-historical topics, essay films, as well as purely computer-animated video works, which can exist as part of installation work and thereby break the concept of the work; Painting as well as ceramics, then exhibition concepts and collaborations in questions of authorship, the list of these technically perfectly executed and by playful lightness characterized works could be continued much further. In terms of topics, the artist is interested in the great questions of humanity, the development of human existence and its cultural achievements, by means of which we can look at this progression of culture. The focus is on art itself, architecture and craftsmanship, as well as thoughts on contemporary visual strategies of persuasion, as we know from advertising.
