The cup (or the coincidence of discovering it) is the only reason and therefore the only legitimisation for
this work. From this object, found at a flea market and reminiscent of a much older cup, a gestural ellipse
(inevitably) emerges in the confrontation, swinging nobly through the space. The phenomenal emerges
from the banal.
