Die Eichel
Der Eichelhäher
Herr Eichel

Eifersucht, französisch Jalousie
von den Blauen Bergen kommen wir
Wird der Ochse gestriegelt, knurrt ihn der Hund an
Zettels Traum und Eichels Eifersucht?

The title of Jens Ullrich’s second exhibition at VAN HORN is full of riddles and arouses many associations. Above all, he tells us about the artist’s world of thoughts into which we can jump and let ourselves be carried away – something always sticks with you.

It can be revealed that Jens Ullrich installs an object made of blinds that, possibly out of jealousy, tries to shield the gallery space from strangers viewing it – or perhaps the pictures in the exhibition are so stunningly beautiful that they themselves have to be hidden from jealous glances – accessible only to lovers who are allowed to enter the room. It is also possible that the title poetically leads us to black ice and invites us to dance around the golden egg…

…the rest here means take a closer look!
