“Can You See The Real Me” deals with rendered bodies, fluid identities, fictional portraits and figuration. A
red thread in the exhibition are the computer-animated objects by Manuel Graf which are based on
drawings by the visionary film director Sergeij Eisenstein and realised via 3D printing. In each room of
the gallery, one of these objects will encounter a work by another artist and enter into an individual
dialogue with it – may it be a painting and drawings by Grace Weaver, wall objects by Meg Lipke,
etchings by Nicole Eisenman or a photograph by Zanele Muholi. All the works revolve around the theme
of figuration/body/identity in a very individual way.
Many thanks to the galleries Broadway and Soy Capit n, as well as to the Miettinen Collection and Elke
Backes.
